Markham Family Physicians experienced a cybersecurity incident in December 2025, during which certain information was accessed and exfiltrated from our systems. Following the incident, we notified all potentially affected patients directly by letter or email. If you previously received a notice from us regarding this incident, please read this update carefully.

If you did not receive a letter or email from us regarding this incident, then your personal information and personal health information was not affected and this update does not apply to you.

We want to reassure our affected patients that we took this situation very seriously from the outset. With the assistance of specialized experts, we conducted a thorough forensic investigation and implemented additional safeguards to help prevent a similar incident from occurring in the future.

Unfortunately, our investigation has confirmed that some of the information taken from our systems has been published on the dark web. While we do not know exactly which specific information may have been involved, we cannot rule out the possibility that your personal information is among it. For this reason, and in the interest of transparency, we felt it was important to inform you.

The personal information and personal health information relating to you that may have been involved in the December incident remains limited to the information identified in the notice you received in February.

The Medical Office Assistant position is critical to the effective functioning of the Family Health Team. They provide patients with appropriate and timely appointments with their doctors or inter-disciplinary health professionals. They ensure efficient and professional running of the office on a daily basis. This position requires excellent administrative skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment that presents different patient needs on a daily basis.
• Medical office assistant Diploma or equivalent experience
• Prior working experience in a medical office would be considered an asset
