Taking Control of Our Mood

Taking Control of Our Mood is an 8-session depression and anxiety management group based on the cognitive-behavioural approach. Participants can expect to learn the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

By the end of the group, you will learn:

  • The relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
  • Automatic thoughts and unhelpful thinking styles
  • How to question, challenge and change problematic thoughts and belief.
  • Lifestyle changes to reduce depression and anxiety

Mindfulness Based Skills Group – Anxiety / Depression

The Social Workers are offering a Mindfulness Based Skills Group, adapted from Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. This group offers an introduction to the core concepts of mindfulness to strengthen the well-being, compassion, critical thinking and resilience. Class discussions, guided meditations, and other tools will be used. Some of the topics include: connecting authentically, mind-body awareness, practising gratitude, emotional intelligence and nurturing compassion.
