Smoking Cessation Program

Is quitting smoking something you’ve thought about but just don’t know where to start? Do you need help “cutting back” on your smoking until you are ready to become smoke-free?

The Markham FHT can assist you with your smoking cessation goals! Whether you are considering quitting smoking for the first time, or have tried many times before, the health care providers at Markham FHT can help you realize your goal to be smoke-free. Call for a “smoking cessation” appointment with your usual physician or nurse practitioner.

Eligibility Requirements:

Patients who smoke, and who are registered with Markham FHT, may enroll in the STOP (Smoking Treatment in Ontario Patients) Program, which provides counselling and free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) to our patients. Through scheduled visits with the Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse, patients will receive the support they need to achieve and maintain a smoke-free lifestyle.

To enroll in the STOP Program, call 905.471.9999 and book a “STOP smoking” appointment with a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse.
