The Markham Family Health Team gives back to the community we support. Not only are we involved in local initiatives, we are also involved in work that takes us across Canada and oversees.

Markham Family Health Team is Going to Africa!
GHANA HEALTH TEAM 2017
This November, two members of the Markham Family Health Team will join an amazing team of 60 health professionals to provide medical care in northern Ghana, Africa. The team will provide over 5,000 patients with free medical care that they otherwise could not afford or access. This year’s mission will add to the great success of our mission to Ghana in 2015.
This is an amazing opportunity for our Family Health Team to make a contribution to a well-run and well-established global health initiative. The team will deliver medical, surgical, dental and eye care to several communities in northern Ghana. The organization we are joining is Ghana Rural Integrated Development (GRID). More information about our team and GRID can be found at: http://grid-nea.org/teams.
Dr. Bill Newton and one of our nurses, Kaitlin Duncan, from the Markham Family Health Team will be participating in this year’s mission. Each of us is working hard to fundraise for this mission. One of our goals is to create a long lasting and sustainable partnership between Markham Family Health Team and GRID in order to assist this Ghanaian community.
We hope that you can support the project by making a donation to GRID. Your donation will go directly to medical supplies, equipment and medication related to the project. Tax receipts will be issued for donations.
