Taking Control of Our Mood

Taking Control of Our Mood is an 8-session depression and anxiety management group based on the cognitive-behavioural approach. Participants can expect to learn the relationship between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

By the end of the group, you will learn:

  • The relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
  • Automatic thoughts and unhelpful thinking styles
  • How to question, challenge and change problematic thoughts and belief.
  • Lifestyle changes to reduce depression and anxiety

 

 

Unleashing the Best Me

Unleashing the Best Me is a group for youth from the ages of 14 to 17 (inclusive) that would like to learn practical skills to manage their thoughts and mood. They will also learn to increase self-esteem, tackle overwhelming tasks, set and follow through on goals and learn how to manage anger.

It is an 8 session, 90-minute group where attendees will gain new perspectives and skills through lessons, thought provoking discussion and individual personal-reflection. In addition, you can keep individual workbooks from each workshop.

 

 

Mindfulness Based Skills Group – Anxiety / Depression

The Social Workers are offering a Mindfulness Based Skills Group, adapted from Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. This group is suitable for adult clients with symptoms of anxiety or depression, or who may be seeking additional coping or wellness skills. This group has a significant commitment to a home practice (45-60 minutes per day) and meets weekly for 8 weeks.
