Family Health Teams use a patient-centred approach to primary health care that brings together physicians, a team of inter-disciplinary health care providers and administrators to coordinate the highest possible quality of care for patients. Family Health Teams are a major component of Ontario’s health care plan that will improve access to health care across the province. The Markham Family Health Team has been operational since April 2007. We have a vision of providing unparalleled comprehensive primary health care for our patients. We are building our ability to deliver a model of lifelong care that optimizes health for the individuals and families in the communities that we serve.
The Markham Family Health Team has the following opportunity available:
We are looking for a dynamic leader with demonstrated organizational management skills to support the growth and development of this Family Health Team. The Executive Director position is central to the successful operation of the Markham Family Health Team. It is a position of leadership, requiring excellent interpersonal skills, strategic planning capability, financial and organizational management expertise. The Executive Director reports to the Board and will work with the Board of Directors to develop strategic direction for the Family Health Team. They will provide formal progress reports on the implementation of these plans to both the Board and Ministry of Health. The Executive Director also ensures that the appropriate policies (set by the Board), procedures, systems and other infrastructure are in place to sustain a patient focused, collaborative and results-based organization. The Executive Director also develops strategic partnerships with public and private sector organizations to continuously enhance the impact of the Family Health Team’s programs and services.
In fulfilling Markham Family Health Team’s mandate, the Executive Director works in close collaboration with the Lead Physician to ensure that primary health care objectives are achieved.
A successful track record of organizational management at the senior level in the health care sector with financial experience backed by a graduate degree in a business or health-related discipline, or a suitable combination of education and experience will be an asset.
